CHRISTMAS will be much brighter for many Coffs Coast children after an outstanding Food and Toy Motorcycle Run roared through town on Saturday.

The 16th annual run, hosted by the Mid North Coast Chapter of the Harley Owners’ Group, attracted as many as 300 bikes and riders and included the Coffs Harbour mayor, Cr Keith Rhoades, and the member for Cowper, Luke Hartsuyker.

The new route this year had bikers start from the North Beach Bowling Club and ride along the old Pacific Highway through Pine Creek, Bonville and onto Lyons Road at Sawtell, Hogbin Drive, Harbour Drive, ending up at the Jetty Foreshores.

The Salvation Army was there to greet them and to take delivery of the toys, food and other donations and to provide a well-deserved sausage sizzle.

The Harley Owners’ Group is a social, family orientated club with about a million members worldwide, 20,000 Australian members and 120 local members.

“The opportunity came up for us to do the toy run many years ago and we’ve been only too happy to support the Salvation Army, who do a great job,” said Col Roberts, the assistant director of the Mid North Coast chapter.

“We love to help out the kids.”
